ALEXA AMBROSEO: Hi I’m Alexa with D S Simon Media at the PRSA Tri-State conference. I’m with Andrea Roley from Center on Addiction. Hi Andrea. How are you doing?
ANDREA ROLEY: Good, thank you.
ALEXA AMBROSEO: Do you want to tell us a little bit about your panel?
ANDREA ROLEY: So we are here today to talk about a couple of things one being navigating difficult stakeholders and how that goes internally. The four of us actually all worked together on the agency side of things and now we’re all here today with different roles. Many of us have moved in-house, so we’re here to talk about what is that like moving from different sides of the business, from the agency side to the in-house role, and how do you navigate difficult stakeholders. What do we think about measurement. We’re talking about a whole host of topics here today.
ALEXA AMBROSEO: Great. And really quickly how are you planning to tie in Center on Addiction with this topic?
ANDREA ROLEY: Center on Addiction is a national nonprofit. We recently merged with Partnership for Drug-Free Kids earlier this year and our mission is to transform how the US addresses addiction. It’s a really exciting and lofty goal. So, today, we’re going to talk a little bit about what that’s like coming from a non-profit perspective. We are about a 100 people, it’s a large nonprofit, we’re national and so we can bring that perspective today.
ALEXA AMBROSEO: And last question, how do you think nonprofit differs in the PR field versus other kinds of businesses or for-profit businesses?
ANDREA ROLEY: I think there’s a lot of similarities. I think one thing to think about a lot from the nonprofit space is we often work in a pro bono model. A lot of times agencies work with us to donate their time which is wonderful and great we thank them so much for that. We have wonderful agency partners. So we just think about things a little bit differently. And that’s something we can talk about today during the panel.
ALEXA AMBROSEO: Great. Thank you so much for joining us.
