Carina Zito, Account Supervisor at 360PR+ was Named a PRSA-NY 2018 15 Under 35 Winner

Carina Zito, Account Supervisor, at 360PR+ was interviewed by Carolina Osma, Senior Marketing Associate at D S Simon Media. They spoke about Carina’s big career break, advice she offers to people starting out and the best advice she ever received from a mentor or older colleague.

CAROLINA: I am Carolina Osma Senior Marketing Associate at D S Simon Media and I am here with Carina. She’s an Account Supervisor at 360 PR and she is an honoree from the 15 Under 35 Winners. So congratulations on your award. Yeah. So what was a key moment in your career that led you to so much success.

CARINA: I think one of the key moments for me was actually moving to New York City about a year and a half ago. You know being in the heart of New York City with all the media and really just making that change in my career I think has led to my success today.

CAROLINA: And so what was a piece of advice that somebody gave you when you were just starting out?

CARINA: A really good piece of advice-and I think this is really important to remember if you are starting out in PR-is to just ask a lot of questions and to really get ingrained in the clients that you’re working for, especially if you’re in an agency. Or if you’re on the client side just really do your research and you know ask a lot of questions.

CAROLINA: And so if somebody will starting out and you are mentoring them, what piece of advice would you give to them?

CARINA: I would say you know like I said don’t be afraid to step up and be creative especially you know if you’re coming in and brainstorming something, I think some of the best ideas that come from our brainstorms internally, are from interns or Account Coordinators. So just don’t be afraid to speak out and be creative.
