Carola Vaisman, Account Supervisor at MSL Group was interviewed by Nicholas Kost Influencer Marketing Account Executive at D S Simon Media. They spoke about Carola’s big career break, advice she offers to people starting out and the best advice she ever received from a mentor or older colleague.

NICK: Hi I’m Nicholas Kost Account Executive from D S Simon Media and I’m here with Carola  Vaisman of MSL Group who has just been announced to the 15 Under 35 winter. And congratulations.

CAROLA: Thank you. Thank you so much.

NICK: So can you start with telling me a little bit about a key moment in your career that led towards a successful career path?

CAROLA: It’s pretty important one for me. It was moving here in New York. I started my career in Brazil had the opportunity to come to New York and what better city to be working in PR.

NICK: There you go. The Big Apple. So maybe a piece of advice for the younger generation that’s just getting into the industry and how they can lead a successful career?

CAROLA: Absolutely. I think it’s really important especially when you’re starting out to just speak up. Raise your hand. Volunteer for things you never know what’s going to come from it and you never know who’s going to be listening.

NICK: Wonderful. And then maybe a piece of advice that you got from my colleague or mentor anytime in the past that’s really helped shape your career?

CAROLA: Sure. I think a big one for me is keep it simple and tied to that. It’s a lot of, if you don’t know the answer to it, I think it’s very important especially what we do in communications to be upfront with everything. So keep it simple.
