Lindsey Groginski, Senior PR Manager at Martha Stewart was interviewed by Carolina Osma, Senior Marketing Associate at D S Simon Media. They spoke about Lindsey’s big career break, advice she offers to people starting out and the best advice she ever received from a mentor or older colleague.

CAROLINA: Hi I’m Carolina Osma, Senior Marketing Associate at D S Simon Media and I am here with Lindsay, she’s a Senior PR Manager at Martha Stewart and she just won 15 Under 35 Award. We are at the PRSA New York’s Big Apple Award ceremony. So congratulations on your work. Can you tell us a key moment in your career that led to success?

LINDSEY: I think the biggest moment was when my marketing director, when I was at Kleinfeld Bridal, she kind of put me on an assignment to produce a segment with The Good Morning America, all by myself, and I really had to just jump in and own it and it gave me the confidence I needed to move forward.

CAROLINA: And that’s really a big project. Yeah. And so what was the best piece of advice somebody gave you when you were just starting out in PR?

LINDSEY: Definitely to remain authentic and also to align your passion with your purpose.

CAROLINA: Cool and say you were working with a much younger person that just started in PR, what advice would you give to them?

LINDSEY:  Never burn a bridge no matter how hard the situation is, and always be kind to other people.
