Top SMT Subjects During the COVID-19 Climate
We noticed a 60% increase in earned television bookings
The number of earned television bookings for satellite media tours are increasing by about 60 percent and the question most often being asked is: what types of subjects are working well for satellite media tours?
- Reopening to the new abnormal
- Safety and Health
- Travel
- Retail
- Recreation in the summer
- Technology for the school and home office
Interestingly, stations are still preferring to hear it straight from a spokesperson that works directly with the brand. All of these factors are leading to a significant increase in bookings and activity.

I’m Doug Simon, and welcome to the Media Guide for PR Pros, and here’s a look at some of the top subjects, anything involving reopening to the new abnormal is going to be successful. Safety and Health is a top area. We’re seeing travel stories increasing dramatically which ties back to that Mark Cuban quote about reopening to the new abnormal. Retail also opening up, tied to recreation in the summer those stories will do well for you what are our families doing to keep themselves busy keep themselves healthy keep themselves entertained. Technology for the school and home office is also another popular subject.
Interestingly, stations are still preferring to hear it straight from a spokesperson that works directly with the brand. All of these factors are leading to a significant increase in bookings and activity or brands want their spokespeople on television and markets around the country.
